Volunteers

VITA volunteers provide tax return preparation services to our taxpayer clients. They may also help with other duties in the office, such as checking-in clients at the front desk, bringing clients to meet with a preparer, answer ingphones, scheduling appointments and data entry.

All volunteers go through a minimum of 36 hours of classroom training and are required to take an IRS competency test in order to volunteer in our office.

After completing trained and when our office opens, all volunteers are asked to serve at least two (2) four hour shifts each week during the tax season.
